A two-year-old greyhound was presented with progressive dyspnoea. Radiograp
hy showed a hypovascular lung pattern with hyperlucent lung fields and echo
cardiography revealed a large thrombus in the main pulmonary artery. Blood
results showed azotaemia and marked hypoalbuminaemia. The dog's clinical co
ndition continued to deteriorate and it was euthanased. Postmortem examinat
ion confirmed the presence of the pulmonary thrombus and revealed idiopathi
c membranous glomerulonephritis.
