Abstract
In mixture of two ferroelectric compounds: 4-(1-methyloctyloxy-carbonyl)phe nyl 4'-octyloxybiphenyl-4-carboxylate and 4-(1-methyl-heptyloxycarbonyl)phe nyl 4-(perfluoro-hexyl-2-etoxy) biphenyl-4-carboxylate an anti ferroelectri c SmCA* phase was induced. Dielectric and electrooptic properties were inve stigated and discussed. V-shaped switching was observed in this mixture.
