Abstract
A study is reported on the effect of ultrasound vibrations of an approximat e frequency of 100 kHz on the radiation-induced luminescence generated in p yrolytic boron nitride by proton irradiation (8 MeV energy, 1.6 x 10(12) p/ cm(2) s flux). The influence of ultrasound vibrations manifests itself at l arge strain amplitudes (similar to 10(-4)), where nonlinear, amplitude-depe ndent absorption of ultrasound is observed to occur. The data obtained are assigned to a radiation-induced change in the recrystallization kinetics, w here low-angle boundaries disappear (radiation annealing). (C) 2001 MAIK "N auka/ Interperiodica".
