Free-radical copolymerization of 1-vinyl-1,2,4-triazole with fluoro-containing alkyl methacrylates

The free-radical copolymerization of 1-vinyl-1,2,4-triazole with fluoro-con taining alkyl methacrylates, such as 1,1,3-trihydrotetrafluoropropyl methac rylate, 1,1,5-trihydrooctafluoroamyl methacrylate, 1,1,7-trihydrododecafluo roheptyl methacrylate, and 1,1-dihydrotrifluoroethyl methacrylate, in DMF w as studied. It was shown that fluoroalkyl methacrylates are more active in copolymerization than 1-vinyl-1,2,4-triazole. The reactivity ratios were de termined, and the Alfrey-Price reactivity parameters were evaluated.
