Abstract
The minimum modulus function is well known as a tool of quantitative e stimates of the allowable size of perturbations of Fredholm and semi-F redholm operators in Banach spaces. Here we discuss the possibility of similar results in the setting of Operator algebras. (C) 1997 Academi c Press.
