Abstract
Standing waves are formed due to the reflection when waves meet vertic al wall, therefore strong structures are needed to keep the wall stabi lity under the serious wave attack. For the improvement of the working condition Ind increase of the stability of the wall, the lower reflec ting breakwaters have attracted close attention Reports mostly from Ja panese researchers are often concerned with the wall of caisson equipp ed with open windows. In this paper a kind of hollow-pipe perforated b reakwater is examined which waves may partially perforate into the har bour basin. The wave in front of the wall can only form partial standi ng wave and wave force is reduced obviously. And the theoretical calcu lation of wave force and analysis of wave force spectrum are all deriv ed. Comparison between the results from theoretical calculation and hy draulic modeling shows reasonable agreement.
