Himalanthus sucuuba is an Amazonian tree with abundant, yet conflicting eth
nobotanical information. Investigation of the polar and non-polar constitue
nts led to the isolation of plumericin, a bioactive spirolactone iridoid, a
nd four known pentacylic triterpenes: lupeol acetate, lupeol cinnamate, lup
eol beta -phenyl propionate, and alpha -amyrin cinnamate.
