Abstract
The concentrations of molybdenum in water and geological samples colle cted from the Sorgun-Yozgat (TURKIYE) region were determined by spectr ophotometry after separation and preconcentration on Amberlite XAD-8 r esin. The molybdenum content of the samples was also determined by Gra fite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GFAAS) and a well-known e xtraction method. The concentration of molybdenum in Sorgun spring wat er was found to be 84 mu g/l. The content of molybdenum of the geologi cal samples collected from Yeni Celtek Mine Quarry were found to be in the range of 12-36 mu g/g (ppm).
