Abstract
In situ spectroscopic studies of liquid oxides at temperatures greater than 2000 degreesC remain challenging experiments but provide a unique opportun ity to better understand their physical properties. Aerodynamic levitation, combined with laser heating, has been conducted with NMR or XAS spectrosco py to obtain the characterisation of local structure and dynamics of very h igh temperature liquids of the SrO-Al2O3 binary system. We present and disc uss results obtained using time resolved Al-27 NMR in the range 1800(.)2300 degreesC for seven different compositions and the first results obtained b y Sr K-edge XAS for the SrO-Al2O3 binary system.
