Abstract
Anomalies in the (x)AgI(1 - x)AgPO3 glasses for x approximate to 0.3 are ob served in the electric properties, molar volume and also local probes like the (31) P NMR longitudinal relaxation time. These anomalies can be explain ed in terms of the opening of percolative channels among the metaphosphate chains, which are subsequently filled by the dissociated Ag+ and F ions. An attempt to reconcile the different data on activation energy for de conduc tivity and glass transition temperature reported in the literature is also made. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
