Anomalies in the (x)AgI(1 - x)AgPO3 glasses for x approximate to 0.3 are ob
served in the electric properties, molar volume and also local probes like
the (31) P NMR longitudinal relaxation time. These anomalies can be explain
ed in terms of the opening of percolative channels among the metaphosphate
chains, which are subsequently filled by the dissociated Ag+ and F ions. An
attempt to reconcile the different data on activation energy for de conduc
tivity and glass transition temperature reported in the literature is also
made. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
