Pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA) is a disorder of unkn
own aetiology that occurs at any age and. can be localized on the skin and
on the mucosas. We report the case of a 24-year-old woman who presented PLE
VA at her 20th week of gestation. This is, to our knowledge, the second cas
e of PLEVA during pregnancy reported in literature. We report this case for
the importance of the diagnosis of PLEVA during pregnancy because of the p
ossible involvement of the mucosal membranes, and in particular of the vagi
na or cervical os of the uterus, where it may cause premature labour and/or
premature rapture of the membranes.
