Ri. Stryuk et Ig. Dlusskaya, Prognostic value of adrenoreception of cellular membranes in development of left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with hypertensive disease, KARDIOLOGIY, 41(4), 2001, pp. 44-48
Functional state of erythropcytes and activity of sympathoadrenal system we
re studied in 83 patients with stage II hypertensive disease (essential hyp
ertension) with various degree of left ventricular hypertrophy. Functional
state of erythrocytes was characterized by parameters of their osmotic, mec
hanical, and acidic resistance and by intracellular content of K+ and Na+ i
ons. Activity of sympathoadrenal system was assessed by magnitude of beta -
adrenoreception of membranes which reflected degree of desensitization of c
ellular adrenergic receptor apparatus. Echocardiography was used for detect
ion of left ventricular hypertrophy, beta -adrenoreception of membranes and
degree of left ventricular hypertrophy were found to be directly related.
This finding confirmed the role of augmented activity of the sympathoadrena
l system in the development of myocardial hypertrophy in patients with hype
rtensive disease. Complex of methods of investigation of adrenoreception an
d resistance of erythrocytes used in this study provided possibility to ass
ess activity of the sympathoadrenal system by the state of its detector par
t and to estimate indirectly the functional state of cardiomyocytes using p
arameters of erythrocyte resistance.
