A 50-GeV muon storage ring has been designed using a racetrack configuratio
n in order to maximize the percentage of stored muons converted into a dire
cted neutrino beam. This design achieves similar to 40% of the muon decays
occurring in the production straight, assuming a production straight which
is directed (downward) towards a detector located on the SLAC site. The des
ign criteria and parameters of this ring are presented. (C) 2001 Published
