Abstract
During the condensation between 1-[3(5)-phenylpyrazol-5(3)-yl] benzimidazol e-2-thione 1 and dichlorotetraethyleneglycol 4 on the one hand, and between 1,8(1,11)bis-[1-[3(5)-phenylpyrazol-5(3)-yl] benzimidazol-2-yl]mercapto tr i (tetra) glycol 9 (10) and dichloropolyethylene glycols 3 and 4 on the oth er hand, using phase transfer catalysis, new macrocycles possessing various structures have been isolated which contain one or two pyrazolylbenzimidaz ole subcyclic units within the polyether chain.
