Kh. Baker et Jp. Hegarty, Presence of Helicobacter pylori in drinking water is associated with clinical infection, SC J IN DIS, 33(10), 2001, pp. 744-746
Helicobacter pylori was detected using molecular methods in untreated well
water. The presence of H. pylori in the wells correlated with infection in
consumers and with the presence of Escherichia coli, indicating fecal conta
mination. Consumption of untreated well water should be considered a risk f
actor for H. pylori infection.
