Abstract
Numerical simulations of the dynamics of discrete dislocations exhibit chao tic behavior. The effect of chaos on the computed overall tensile stress-st rain response is small, but the effect on the crack growth resistance is si gnificant. (C) 2001 Acta Materialia Inc.
