Abstract
The combination of combinatorial protein chemistry and powerful select ion techniques has resulted in the development of novel protein ligand s based on the randomization of surface residues of a parental protein which is used as a scaffold. Such binding proteins, selected from lib raries via specific binding towards a given target ligand, have the po tential to replace natural antibodies in various biotechnological appl ications.
