A fuel cell power module is a complex system in which interactions between
different components are chemical, hydraulic, thermal, mechanical and elect
rical. Design and optimization of such a system cannot be limited to a sepa
rate study of each element, but needs a complete system analysis using mode
lling and simulation. The bondgraph theory is specially adapted to the mult
iple phenomena involved. The paper presents the modelling methodology used
for the power module of the project HYDRO-GEN, illustrating it with some ty
pical examples and presenting the first qualitative simulations results.
