Unilateral diaphragmatic paralysis is rare and usually due to interrupted p
hrenic nerve conduction of impulses. The idiopathic form is the most common
and viral infection has been suggested as the cause. Generally, clinical r
epercussions are few but may be severe in some cases. We report a case of u
nilateral diaphragmatic paralysis that was successfully treated by plicatio
n of the diaphragm affected.
