Abstract
Methods used to prepare several new cage-annulated chiral macrocycles (i.e. , 3a-3d, 5, 7, and 12) are reported. These novel host systems were synthesi zed either by incorporating an optically active monosaccharide derivative o r a tartaric acid derivative into each crown ether to provide the souce of chirality.
