Abstract
Even a moderate starburst event has global effects on a dwarf galaxy in for m of gaseous outflows into its halo. These outflow processes probably hold the keys to understand the evolution of dwarf galaxies, if significant amou nts of newly produced metals are vented out of the galaxy. In this paper we review shortly the state of the field and present new results based on VLT data.
