Abstract
Here we discuss the effects of large ambient pressures and decreasing densi ty gradients on the observed properties of dusty UC hii regions. Dust absor ption can effectively reduce the size of the photoionized region, and densi ty gradients can modify the spectral index of the emission. The effects of the density gradients seem to be present in both galactic and extragalactic HII regions.
