We discuss the properties of the Wolf-Rayet (WR) stellar population in the
most metal-deficient blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxies. It is shown that ma
ssive stars with stellar wind are present in several BCDs with oxygen abund
ance 12 + log O/H < 7.6. In particular, a variety of late nitrogen (WN7 - W
N11) and early carbon (WC4) Wolf-Rayet stars are detected. This finding has
an impact on the understanding the evolution of the massive stars in low-m
etallicity environment.
