Abstract
We present a galaxy evolution model to explain the galaxy number counts in B, R and K as well as the galaxy colors and their evolution in B-R and R-K. Basic ingredients in the model are the galaxy luminosity function and the type mix determined from our Calar Alto Deep Imaging Survey (CADIS). The mo del reproduces the galaxy counts in B and R and the galaxy colors in B-R fa r beyond the limits of our own CADIS number counts. Together with the compa rison in K this can be interpreted as the effect of the evolution of indivi dual galaxies.
