Abstract
It is shown that one can design a control system for a dynamic object on th e basis of natural-language expert statements. Those statements are formali zed by means of a fuzzy knowledge base, which gives the structure of the co ntrol system. The example of controlling an inverted pendulum. is used to s how that a suitable knowledge base allows one to control this dynamic syste m no less effectively than by means of classical methods.
