A new species of Chiliotrichiopsis (Asteraceae : Astereae) from Peru

A new species of Chiliotrichiopsis (Asteraceae: Astereae) fro nt Peru. Brittonia 53: 430-434. 2001.-Chiliotrichiopsis peruviana Nesom, H. Rob. & Granda, a new species from Dept. Ayacucho in southwestern Peru, is described and illustrated. It is the only rayless species of the genus, now expanded to four species, and the only one that occurs outside of Argentin a. Chiliotrichiopsis is one of six shrubby South American genera of Asterea e (subtribe Hinter-huberinae) with paleate receptacles. Observations oil mo rphology and a key to these genera provide perspective for the generic plac ement of the new species.
