Abstract
Incorporation of an alkoxide functional group into an N-heterocyclic carben e (NHC) ligand allows the synthesis of the first anionic NHC chelating liga nds, which react to give the first neutral, molecular silver(I) alkoxide ca rbene complex, and a copper(I) derivative containing the first non-macrocyc lic, square planar Cu(I) centres.
