Studies on the synthesis and characters of ferrocene labeled DNA probe

The preparation and characters of a ferrocene labeled DNA probe was studied . Ferrocene was labeled onto a denatured calf-thymus DNA by EDC. The electr ochemical character, UV spectrum and IR spectrum of the ferrocene labeled p robe were discussed. It was suggested that the ferrocene be labeled on the phosphoric group of calf-thymus DNA. The probe synthesis was simple, quick and of efficiency. It made bases for the application of electrochemical DNA probe to DNA detection, damage and protection.
