U-polymer, a kind of polyarylate was synthesized by interfacial polycondens
ation method and its structure was characterized by IR and H-1 NMR spectra.
Amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) (APET) was prepared with introducti
on of U-polymer to improve the thermal and mechanical behavior of PET. The
properties of APET were characterized by DSC and DMA. The results showed th
at the APET exhibits amorphism, transparency, higher glass transition tempe
rature (T-g) and higher storage modulus than those of PET.
