Abstract
The purpose of this case report is to describe the evaluation and trea tment of a patient with vertigo. The patient was a 32-year-old male ca rpenter with a 17-year history of episodic vertigo that occurred when his neck was in the extended position while positioned supine and duri ng walking. His medical and physical therapy evaluative findings were consistent with a diagnosis of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (B PPV). He was treated with an individualized home exercise program of e ye movement exercises, Brandt/Daroff exercises, and general conditioni ng exercises. Twenty-four days from the start of physical therapy, the patient was free of symptoms even when his neck was in the extended p osition.
