Abstract
The behaviour of woven reinforcements has been extensively studied under co nditions of bias extension, from both experimental and analytical viewpoint s. The work reported here covers the measurement of the deformation charact eristics of cross-plied unidirectional prepreg under conditions of bias ext ension. The results show that the global behaviour of cross-plied unidirect ional prepreg can be predicted with reasonable accuracy by the pin-jointed- net assumption developed for woven cloth, but that the detailed behaviour i s very different from that of woven cloth.
