Abstract
Dimensional Analysis technique have been applied on very wide range of appl ications in fluid mechanics particularly in investigations of turbulent flo w. Recently, these techniques are being used in the high voltage C engineer ing for contamination studies on the insulator surface. In this paper, the time to flashover of contaminated insulator has been computed using a Dimen sional Analysis technique. The calculated times to flashover are compared w ith the experimental results and found to be in close agreement. (C) 2001 E lsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
