Abstract
The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P 2(1)/c The cell parameters are a = 8.3558 (2), b = 11.3659(2), c = 23.9039( 3) Angstrom, V = 2265.6(7) Angstrom (3), alpha = gamma = 90.0 degrees and b eta = 93.64(1)degrees. The structure has an indole moiety, phenylsulfonyl a nd dimethoxy nitrophenyl groups. The phenylsulfonyl group is attached to th e indole nitrogen and the dimethoxy nitrophenyl group is attached to the ol efinic carbon. The crystal packing is stabilised by van der Waals interacti ons.
