Abstract
A new species of the genus Cryptoxilos Viereck, 1911 is described from Chin a. This is the first record of the genus from the East Palaearctic region. The new species is included in a key to the described species of the genus. The subgeneric name Cryptoxiloides Capek & Capecki, 1979 is used to accomm odate the Palaearctic species in the genus Cryptoxilos Viereck.
