Abstract
We study the properties of the spatial fluctuations in the far-field parame tric fluorescence output of a type I degenerate traveling-wave parametric a mplifier. Results of a semi-classical simulation are compared with experime nts in a LBO crystal. This simulation is then used to predict amplified ima ges of a continuous background, in a phase-sensitive as well as in a phase- insensitive configuration.
