Tb. Kolotilina et As. Mekhonoshin, Garnet ultramafites and associated metabasic rocks of the Biryusa block (southern Siberia), GEOL GEOFIZ, 42(8), 2001, pp. 1221-1236
A detailed petrologo-geochemical study of basic and ultrabasic rocks of the
Biryusa block has shown that they resulted from metamorphism of weakly dif
ferentiated rocks of lhersolite-olivine websterite series nd tholeiitic bas
alts. The temperatures of formation of igneous pyroxenes of ultrabasic rock
s are estimated at 1100-1200 degreesC. The subsequent high-pressure metamor
phism at 800-900 degreesC and 16-20 kbar produced garnet parageneses in the
most ferruginous derivates of ultrabasic magma and in basic rocks.
