Abstract
Discrete transfer functions for the alpha-beta and alpha-beta-gamma Kalman tracking filters are presented. Filters for the update, as well as the pred iction, estimates are considered. Root loci for the poles and zeros are pre sented, parameterised in the manoeuvring index. Closed-form solutions for t he alpha-beta-gamma gains are given as functions of the manoeuvring index.
