Abstract
Given a linear antenna array with an excitation distribution affording a su m pattern, subarray weighting allows the same array also to generate a diff erence pattern, with minimal alteration of the signal feed circuitry. Previ ous implementations of this approach have optimized the weights of given su barrays. Here we report the simultaneous optimization of the partition in s ubarrays and the subarray weights.
