Abstract
Violence against women within marriage is rampant, and often assumes multip le forms. It has attracted the attention of civil society, nations and the international community, Wife abuse is an area of concern for social work a s it threatens to nullify all, what the profession stands for. Student soci al workers have shown an increased sensitivity and inclination towards the subject of unequal power relations within marriage. In this paper, an attem pt to introduce a curriculum of gender aware social work with special empha sis on wife abuse has been made.
