H. Maring et G. Schwartze, A CONDENSATION PARTICLE COUNTER FOR LONG-TERM CONTINUOUS USE IN THE REMOTE MARINE-ENVIRONMENT, Atmospheric environment, 28(20), 1994, pp. 3293-3298
In order to measure condensation particles of geophysical significance
and to detect locally produced airborne combustion products, we modif
ied commercial clean room condensation particle counters and deployed
these instruments on atmospheric sampling towers in remote marine regi
ons. The modified instruments accurately counted condensation particle
s in continuous mode both initially and after more than a year of depl
oyment with only minor on-site maintenance.
