Ferroelectric orthorhombic potassium niobate (KNbO3) crystal is successfull
y grown from an aqueous solution dissolving K2NbO3F as a nutrient. Although
the size of each crystal is about 10 mum or less, properties of the formed
KNbO3 crystals have been examined. The possibility of using this method in
the future to grow KNbO3 crystals or thin films has also been investigated
in order to apply KNbO3 to acoustic devices.
