The dielectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric characteristics of Sr1-xCaB
i2Ta2O9 (x = 0-1) ceramics were examined. The samples were prepared by a co
nventional ceramic technique at 1260 degreesC to 1340 degreesC for 2 h. The
Curie temperature of samples gradually rose from 324 degreesC to 896 degre
esC when x was increased. The coercive field E-c of the sample with x = 0.7
5 was approximately 16 MV/m, and the value of E-c was about 3 times that of
x = 0. In the x = 0.75, the maximum value of the mechanical quality factor
Q(m) was obtained, approximately 11000.
