Abstract
The isolation and characterization of 2-fluorophenyl imines and their metal complexes based upon physical (quantitative analyses, molecular weight determinations and conductivity measurements) and spectral evid ence (i.r. and H-1-,C-13- and F-19-n.m.r.) are described. Structural a ssignments have been made from spectral studies. The donor sites of li gands have been located and geometries of the donor environment around the Ru-III acceptor centre are proposed. In view of the potential the rapeutic activity exhibited by the fluoro ligands, Ru-III complexes, t ogether with their parent 2-fluorophenyl imines, were screened for bio logical activity. The results are encouraging.
