Abstract
Threo- and erythro-1-(2,4,5,-trimethoxyphenyl-1,2,3-tri(4-nitro) benzoyloxy propanes were formed in a one-electron transfer reaction between 2-allyl-1, 4,5-trimethoxybenzene and 4-nitrobenzoyl peroxide and a mechanism is propos ed for this very unusual, subtle reaction.
