Abstract
An easy and effective method to prepare a new supported Mn(III)-porphyrin b y immobilisation of Mn(III)-5,10,15, 20-Tetrakis(p-sulfonatophenyl)porphyri n, [Mn(TPPS)], on poly(4-styrylmethyl)pyridinium chloride (PSMP) is reporte d. This catalyst was found to be efficient for catalysing alkene epoxidatio n and alkane hydroxylation with sodium periodate. This new heterogenised me talloporphyrin catalyst is of high stability and reusability.
