Abstract
This paper presents a stress formulation used for estimating head-disk impa ct stress in a dynamic loading process. Based on the formulation, we extrap olated the minimum safety rounding parameters for sliders from existing exp erimental results in terms of desired interface durability. We also extrapo lated the safety loading cycle numbers for sliders from existing experiment al results in terms of the occurrence of the measurable impact wear.
