Abstract
The defects in an as-quenched CuZnAlMnNi shape memory alloy were systemical ly observed by transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the disl ocation loops in fine martensite plates generated during quenching extend a long the direction of width or length, and form the stacking faults along c ertain angles with the plate boundaries or approximately parallel to the bo undaries.
