Abstract
It has been shown, on the basis of the analysis of CIDNP effects, that alle ne and (Me3Si)(2)NH - major products of the photoinduced reaction of Et3SnC H2CH=CH2 and (Me3Si)(2)NBr - result from a radical pair comprised of (CH2CH BrCH2SnEt3)-C-. and N-.(SiMe3)(2) free radicals. Allene is formed through t he beta -cleavage of the short-lived homolytic substitution product Et3SnCH 2CBr=CH2. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
