Abstract
The Precambrian Godhra Granite occurring in parts of central Gujarat, intru des the metasediments of Lunavada and Champaner Groups. Rb-Sr isochron base d on 14 whole rock samples of the Godhra Granite gives an age of 965 +/- 40 Ma, with an initial Sr-87/Sr-86 ratio of 0.7109 +/-0.0015. Geochemical dat a indicate its origin by partial melting of crustal rocks in post-orogenic environment.
