Observation of dependence of the nonlinear response on initial conditions in a two-DOF mechanical structure

This paper presents experimental realization of dependence on initial condi tions in the nonlinear response of a two-degree-of-freedom (two-DOF) nonlin ear system, by employing a nonlinear beam-mass mechanical structure. The ex perimental data show that the structure exhibits different dynamic behavior under different initial conditions.
